GERMAN REGULATIONS
Section 41(14) of the German Road Traffic Licensing Regulations (StVZO) prescribes that the following motor vehicles and trailers must be fitted with at least one wheel chock.
1. Motor vehicles - except for tracked vehicles - with a permitted gross weight of more than 4 t.
2. Twin-axle trailers (except for semi-trailers, rigid-axle trailers and centre-axle trailers) with a permitted gross weight of more than 750 kg.
According to the same regulations, at least two wheel chocks must be fitted to the following:
1. Three-axle and multi-axle vehicles
2. Semi-trailers
3. Rigid-axle trailers and centre-axle trailers with a permitted gross weight of more than 750 kg
When not in use, the wheel chocks of the motor vehicle or trailer must be attached in or on the vehicle in an easily accessible place with holders in such a way that they cannot be lost or rattle around. Hooks or chains may not be used as holders for wheel chocks for this reason. The effectiveness of the wheel chocks according to Section 41 of the StVZO must be checked by the vehicle manufacturer (18% uphill and downhill at kerb weight and permitted gross weight).
Our wheel chocks are in accordance with DIN 76051 edition 11/92. DIN 76051 is generally recognised in all countries of Europe. However, regulations of specific countries must be complied with.
